How Do Royalties Work on DistroVibe?

Every time your music is streamed, downloaded or used on a platform, that store pays royalties for it. DistroVibe collects those royalties and credits them to your Wallet automatically. When do earnings appear? Stores report earnings with a delay. Earnings usually arrive 1–3 months after the plays happen. A stream from this week will not show up as money in your wallet right away. This is normal and is the same for every distributor. Streams and earnings are reported separately: - Streams are updated daily in your Analytics. - Earnings are added once stores send their sales statements. Most stores report once a month. How much do I keep? While your subscription is active, you keep 100% of your distribution royalties. DistroVibe takes no commission. If your subscription expires or a renewal payment fails and is not resolved, royalties that are processed after that point carry a 20% distribution commission. Renew your plan to go back to 100%. Publishing royalties (songwriting income collected through Publishing Administration) are handled separately and carry a 15% administration fee. See Publishing Administration. Where can I see my earnings? - Wallet shows your available balance, pending amounts, money you have already withdrawn, and every transaction. - Analytics shows earnings by store and by country next to your streams. Royalty splits If you set up royalty splits on a release or track, each accepted collaborator's share is paid into their own DistroVibe wallet automatically when royalties are processed. See Setting Up Royalty Splits. Need help? If an expected payment is missing after the usual 1–3 month window, open a support ticket from your dashboard under Billing and include the release name and period.

You can withdraw your available balance to your bank account at any time once it reaches the minimum. Before you start - Your available balance must be at least $25.00 USD. - You need a bank account saved in your wallet. See Adding a Bank Account for Payouts. Requesting a withdrawal 1. Open Wallet in your dashboard. 2. Choose Withdraw. 3. Enter an amount between $25 and your available balance, or withdraw your full balance. 4. Confirm the request. The amount is deducted from your available balance right away and appears as Pending while it is being processed. A request goes through these statuses: | Status | Meaning | |---|---| | Pending | Your request has been received. | | In progress | Our team is processing the transfer. | | Approved | The transfer has been approved. | | Paid | The money has been sent. You will receive a "Payout Sent" email. | | Rejected | The transfer could not be completed. | How long the money takes to reach your account after it is sent depends on your bank and the transfer type, for example SEPA or international wire. If a withdrawal is rejected If a payout cannot be completed, for example because of incorrect bank details, the full amount is returned to your available balance and you receive an email explaining the reason. Correct the issue and request the withdrawal again. Fees DistroVibe does not charge a fee for withdrawals. Your own bank or intermediary banks may charge their usual fees for incoming or international transfers. Need help? If a withdrawal has been pending for longer than you expect, open a support ticket under Billing and include the amount and request date.

Setting Up Royalty Splits

Royalty splits let you share the earnings of a release or a single track with your collaborators automatically. Each collaborator receives their share directly in their own DistroVibe wallet. Release splits and track splits - A release split applies to the whole release. - A track split applies to one track only. If a track has its own split, it is used instead of the release split for that track. Creating a split 1. Open the release in your dashboard and select the track, or the release, you want to split. 2. Open Royalty splits. 3. Add each collaborator with their name, email address and share (%). You can also add a note. 4. Make sure the shares add up to exactly 100%, including your own share. 5. Save. Each collaborator receives an email invitation to accept their share. What collaborators need to do Collaborators need a DistroVibe account to receive payments. They accept or decline it from the link in the invitation email, which opens the Splits page of their dashboard. They must sign in with the same email address the invitation was sent to. When splits are paid Splits are paid automatically every time royalties for the release are processed. - Only collaborators who have accepted their invitation are paid. - Shares that are still pending, or that were declined, stay with the release owner. Shares are not paid out retroactively. A collaborator who accepts later receives their share from the next royalty run onwards. Ask collaborators to accept as soon as possible. Changing a split The release owner, and team members with team management permission, can edit a split at any time. Changes apply to royalties processed after the change. Accepting a Royalty Split Invitation

If an artist or label added you to a royalty split, you received an email invitation from DistroVibe. Accepting your share 1. Sign in to DistroVibe, or create an account, using the same email address the invitation was sent to. 2. Open the link in the invitation email. It takes you to the Splits page of your dashboard. 3. Review the release or track and your percentage. 4. Choose Accept. If the split is not correct, choose Reject and contact the person who invited you. Getting paid Once you accept, your share of the royalties is credited to your own wallet every time royalties for that release are processed. You can withdraw it like any other earnings. See How to Withdraw Your Earnings. Shares are only paid while your invitation is accepted. Royalties processed before you accepted stay with the release owner, so accept as soon as you receive the invitation. I did not receive the email Check your spam folder first. If it is not there, ask the release owner to confirm the email address they used and to save the split again.

Why Don't My Earnings Match My Streams?

It is common to see streams in your Analytics before the matching earnings appear in your Wallet. There are a few reasons for this. Streams and money are reported at different times - Streams are updated daily, as soon as stores report the plays. - Earnings only arrive when a store sends its sales statement, usually 1–3 months after the plays. Monthly trend charts can lag by 45–60 days. So this month's streams will usually be paid in a later month. Stores pay different amounts per stream There is no fixed "price per stream". What a stream pays depends on: - the store or service (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok and so on), - the listener's country, - whether the listener has a paid or a free account, - each store's own royalty pool for that month. Social and video usage is reported separately Usage on social and video platforms (for example TikTok or Content ID matches) is reported separately from audio streams and on its own schedule. Subscription status If your subscription expired at the time the royalties were processed, a 20% distribution commission applies. See How Do Royalties Work on DistroVibe? Still looks wrong? If earnings for a period are still missing after 3 months, open a support ticket under Billing with the release, store and month.
