YouTube Topic Channel Remapping & Artist Separation
How to ask DistroVibe to move a YouTube Art Track to the correct Topic channel when it lands on the wrong artist or stays on a temporary channel.
When a YouTube Art Track is generated, YouTube's automated matching may place it on an unrelated artist's Topic channel or create an unwanted duplicate channel. When this happens, you can submit a remapping request through DistroVibe to have your music moved to the correct channel.
Before Submitting: Temporary Staging Channels
Before opening a ticket, check the channel where your track currently appears:
Release - Topic / Various Artists: Right after delivery to YouTube Music, tracks often appear on a temporary channel titled "Release - Topic" or "Various Artists - Topic".
Automatic Processing Window: This is normal while YouTube processes the release. Tracks usually move automatically to your own
[Artist Name] - Topicchannel within about 30 days. When to Request a Fix: Submit a remapping request if your track is on an unrelated artist's Topic channel, or if it is still on a temporary channel after 30 days.
How to Submit a Remapping Request via DistroVibe
Sign in to your DistroVibe Dashboard and go to Support.
Open a New Ticket and choose the category YouTube Remapping.
Select the affected release. Its UPC and ISRC are added to the ticket automatically.
Provide the following details:
Art Track Video URL (the link to the auto-generated YouTube video)
Incorrect Channel URL (where the track currently appears)
Correct Channel URL (your
[Artist Name] - Topicchannel, or a note if a new Topic channel needs to be created)Any additional information and a screenshot (optional)
Submit the ticket.
Processing Turnaround & Verification
Processing Window: Our team sends the correction request to YouTube. How long it takes to show on YouTube and YouTube Music depends on YouTube; we will update you in your ticket.
Confirming the Update: YouTube does not send completion emails. Check the Art Track video URL after a while: the channel name under the video title changes once remapping is complete.
