What Is the Status of My Release?

What each DistroVibe release status means, from Draft and DistroVibe review to Delivered to stores, Live, Needs Docs, Rejected and takedown.

DistroVibe TeamLast updated on October 26, 2026

DistroVibe shows a status for every release so you can see where it stands in the distribution process.

Go to Music → Catalog in your DistroVibe dashboard to see the status of each release. Open a release to see its Release journey: Submitted, DistroVibe review, Store delivery check, Delivered to stores and Live.

Draft

Your release shows as Draft while it has not yet been submitted.

A release can only be edited while it is a Draft. You can change information such as:

  • Release metadata

  • Track information

  • Artwork

  • Contributors

  • Release date

  • Store and territory selections

Drafts are saved automatically. When everything is complete, submit the release for review.

DistroVibe review

Your release moves to DistroVibe review after you submit it.

Our team checks the release before it is sent to stores. During this stage, we may review:

  • Release metadata

  • Artwork

  • Audio files

  • Copyright information

  • Artist and contributor information

  • Store eligibility

  • Content policy compliance

The review takes up to 7 days, or 24–48 hours with Fast-Lane. No action is normally needed from you during review unless we ask for documents.

Identity verification: releases are only delivered once your identity is verified. If your identity is still being reviewed, or has not been confirmed, your release stays on hold in review until it is. See Why Do I Need to Verify My Identity?

Approved

Approved means your release passed our review and is being prepared for delivery to the stores.

Sending to stores

Sending to stores means your release is being delivered to the digital stores and streaming services you selected.

Store delivery check

During Store delivery check, the stores review your release before accepting it. This usually takes a few days.

Needs Docs

A release shows Needs Docs when we or a store need documents before distribution can continue.

This can happen when we need to verify things such as:

  • Copyright ownership

  • Sample or beat licenses

  • Rights to previously released material

  • Public domain recordings or compositions

  • Artist identity or authorization

  • Potential audio matches found during copyright checks

  • Other rights-related information

You will receive an email and a notification. Open the release in your dashboard, go to the Documents tab and upload your proof documents.

Distribution continues after the documents have been reviewed and accepted.

Rejected

Rejected means your release was not approved. The reason is shown on the release page and sent to you by email. If you have questions about the decision, contact support.

Delivered to stores

Your release moves to Delivered to stores once it has been sent to the selected digital stores and streaming services and accepted for delivery.

At this stage, platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TikTok, Amazon Music, Deezer and others may still be processing the release.

Each platform has its own processing times, so a release that is Delivered to stores may not appear publicly yet.

If your release date is in the future, the release is scheduled to go live on that date.

Delivered to stores does not necessarily mean the release is already available to listeners. It means the release has been sent to the selected services.

Live

Your release shows as Live once it has gone live on the stores.

Important

A Live status does not necessarily mean that your release is already available on every selected platform.

Each streaming service and digital store processes releases independently, and some platforms can take a few days longer than others.

For example, your release may already be available on Spotify while Apple Music, YouTube Music or another service is still processing it.

This is completely normal.

Takedown

When you take down a live release, or a takedown is issued, its status changes to Takedown. This means the removal has been requested. The audio files are deleted from DistroVibe and you receive an email confirmation.

Takedown Pending

Takedown Pending means the stores are processing the removal.

Taken Down

Your release shows as Taken Down once the takedown has been completed.

Because every platform processes takedowns independently, the release may remain visible on some stores for a while after it is taken down.
