DistroVibe Priority Pitch & Playlist Consideration
How to pitch an upcoming track for editorial playlist consideration with DistroVibe Priority Pitch, and what makes a strong pitch.
Priority Pitch in the DistroVibe Marketing Hub lets you pitch upcoming tracks for editorial playlist consideration on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
Each pitch tells editors about your release: its story and sound, your marketing plans, past milestones, upcoming shows, and your social presence.
Submission Guidelines & Criteria
Upcoming Releases: Pitch tracks from releases you have created in DistroVibe that have a scheduled future release date.
Submission Lead Time: You can pitch up to 4 weeks before release. Editors need time to listen, so schedule your release date well ahead (the minimum is 7 days, the default is 14 days) and pitch as early as you can.
One Track Per Pitch: Each pitch is for one track. For EPs and Albums, choose the track you want to focus on.
Active Plan Required: Submitting a pitch requires an active DistroVibe plan.
No Guaranteed Placement: Submitting a pitch does not guarantee an editorial placement. Playlist additions are decided solely by each platform's editors.
What Editorial Review Teams Prioritize
Editors evaluate incoming submissions through a focused quality filter:
Commercial Production Fidelity: Releases should feature clear, professional mixing and mastering suitable for continuous listening alongside major catalog entries.
Sonic Identity & Vocal Character: Distinct vocal phrasing, unique melodic hooks, inventive sound design, or standout acoustic instrumentation.
Arrangement & Pacing: Cohesive structural progression that fits the intended mood, genre, or playlist format (e.g., immediate hooks suitable for radio and playlist retention).
Targeting & Narrative: Clear contextual detail regarding the project's inspiration, upcoming promotional campaigns, and target audience.
All genres and territories are welcome.
