How to Take Down Your Music from Your Previous Distributor
When and how to request a takedown from your previous distributor after your transferred releases are live and linked on DistroVibe.
Once your transferred releases are live on DistroVibe and your stream counts and playlist placements have linked on major DSPs (such as Spotify and Apple Music), you can request takedowns through your former distributor.
Important Pre-Takedown Checklist
Confirm Both Versions Are Live: Ensure your DistroVibe release shows as Live and is visible on the platforms alongside your old version.
Verify Metadata & Stream Linking: Confirm that stream counts have linked (for example on Spotify) before taking down the old release, to avoid a gap in availability or loss of playlist placement.
Do Not Remove Too Early: Requesting a takedown before the new version is live and linked can cause temporary downtime and playlist removal.
Distributor-Specific Takedown Instructions
Below are the usual steps for requesting takedowns on major distribution platforms. Other distributors change their menus from time to time, so if a step does not match what you see, check your distributor's own help center or contact their support.

Log in via the mobile app or web portal at amuse.io.
Go to My Music and click on the release you want to remove.
Select Take down release and confirm.

Submit a support ticket including the UPC(s) and release titles for the projects you are removing.
AWAL processes takedowns manually; watch your registered email for confirmation from their support team.

Click View/Edit next to the specific release.
Click Distribution, then select Cancellation Options.

Email Stem support from your registered account email (or contact your Account Manager) with the following details:
Artist Name
Release Title
UPC
Reason for takedown (e.g., "Catalog transfer to DistroVibe")
Symphonic
Log in to SymphonicMS.
Go to Catalog > Releases.
Select the release and click Take Down.
TuneCore
Log into your TuneCore account.
Open your discography and select the release.
Choose the option to take the release down from all stores.
UnitedMasters
Log in to your UnitedMasters account.
Go to the Music section and click the Live tab.
Select the release, click the three dots (
...) on the right-hand side, and choose Takedown Release.
Takedown Timeline
How long a takedown takes depends on your previous distributor and on each store. Because your DistroVibe version is already live with the same ISRCs and audio, your listeners should still be able to find and play your music while the old version is removed.
