Spotify Discovery Mode Guidelines
What Spotify Discovery Mode is, how its commission works, and where to check eligibility; DistroVibe cannot enroll tracks for you.
Spotify Discovery Mode is a Spotify marketing tool that lets artists and labels signal priority tracks for Spotify's personalized listening contexts, such as Spotify Radio, Autoplay, and some personalized mixes, with no upfront budget.
Pricing & Royalty Model
Spotify does not charge upfront fees for Discovery Mode:
Spotify takes a commission only on streams generated within Discovery Mode listening contexts.
Streams outside those contexts (for example user libraries, personal playlists, searches, and editorial playlists) are not affected.
The commission is deducted by Spotify from the royalties for those streams.
Eligibility
Eligibility is set entirely by Spotify, which may change its criteria at any time. Spotify generally requires an active Spotify for Artists profile and tracks that have been released for at least 30 days. Check the current requirements in Spotify for Artists.
Discovery Mode and DistroVibe
DistroVibe does not offer Discovery Mode enrollment and cannot opt your tracks in. If Discovery Mode is available for your profile, it appears inside Spotify for Artists, and you manage it there directly.
To get the most from Spotify's tools, make sure you have claimed your profile in Spotify for Artists. You can open it from the Marketing Hub in your DistroVibe dashboard.
