Publishing Administration
Distribution pays you for your recordings. Your songs (the compositions) earn separate songwriting royalties from performances and mechanical reproductions. DistroVibe Publishing Administration registers your compositions with collecting societies worldwide and collects those royalties for you. Key facts - Registration with 50+ collecting societies worldwide, including ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, PRS and SACEM - You keep 100% ownership of your songs - A 15% administration fee applies. The remaining 85% of collected publishing royalties is paid into your Wallet. Getting started 1. Open Publishing in your dashboard. 2. Sign the Publishing Administration Agreement in the app with your legal name and signature. Registrations open once it is signed. Registering a composition 1. Choose a track from your catalog, or paste a Spotify track link. Catalog tracks must have an ISRC and be Approved, being sent to stores, Delivered or Live. 2. Add the writers: - 1 to 20 writers per song, - shares must add up to exactly 100%, - at least one writer must be marked as collecting through DistroVibe, - add each writer's IPI number (9–11 digits) if they have one. 3. Submit. Writers you add are saved, so you can reuse them on your next songs. Status | Status | Meaning | |---|---| | Pending | Waiting to be registered | | Registered | Registered with the societies | | Declined | Could not be registered. Check the reason given. | You can withdraw a registration while it is still pending. Once it has been processed, it can no longer be withdrawn. Already a member of a society? If you are already signed to a publisher, or you collect publishing royalties yourself through a society, check your existing agreements before registering, so the same song is not registered twice.
Understanding Your Analytics
Open Analytics in your dashboard to see how your music is performing. Tabs - Overview: streams, downloads, earnings, saves and engagement, plus earnings by store and by country - By Release: performance for each release and track - Usage Discovery: social and video usage, such as TikTok creations and YouTube Content ID matches - Compare: compare releases or periods side by side - Artificial Streams: alerts about suspicious streaming activity on your music. See Artificial Streaming and Fraud Policy. Time periods Choose all time, the last 7 days, 30 days, last calendar month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Some breakdowns are only available as all-time totals: the split by platform, territories, per-track figures, and saves and skips. How fresh is the data? | Data | Updated | |---|---| | Streams | Daily | | 3-month view | Weekly | | Monthly trend charts | Lag of about 45–60 days | | Earnings | 1–3 months after the plays | The daily chart shows the date the store reported the plays, which can differ slightly from the day they happened. Listener details For detailed audience data, such as listener demographics, playlists and real-time streams, use the stores' own tools: Spotify for Artists and Apple Music for Artists. See Claiming Your Spotify for Artists Profile.
Using SmartLinks
A SmartLink is a single page that links to your release on every major platform. Share one link in your bio, posts and ads instead of a separate link for each store. SmartLinks use short addresses like distrovi.be/your-release. Automatic SmartLinks When your release goes Live, a SmartLink is created for it automatically. Store links are filled in using your track's ISRC and updated over the following days as more stores publish the release. Creating a SmartLink yourself 1. Open SmartLinks in your dashboard and choose New. 2. Select a Live release. 3. The link address is generated for you. Change it if you like. Customizing - Edit the address, title, artist name and cover. - Show or hide platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer and SoundCloud, and add your own custom links. - Add tracking pixels for your ad campaigns: Meta Pixel, Google Tag and TikTok Pixel. Fans can switch the page between light and dark mode. Growing your fan list Fans can sign up with their email on your SmartLink. New sign-ups are added to your Fan CRM automatically, so you can reach them with Fan Broadcast. See DistroVibe Audience CRM & Fan Data Management. Stats Each SmartLink shows its total number of visits and clicks. Requirements Creating SmartLinks needs an active plan. Existing SmartLinks stay online if your plan ends.
