Eligibility Requirements

  • Active YouTube Music Topic Channel: You must have at least 1 to 3 official releases successfully distributed to YouTube Music via DistroVibe. Your music must already be indexed under an active [Artist Name] - Topic channel.

  • Dedicated Owned & Operated (O&O) Channel: You must own and operate a personal channel that represents you or your band exclusively multi-artist, record label, or non-music channels are strictly ineligible.

  • Exact Name Matching: The name of your personal channel must match your official DistroVibe artist name character for character (avoid adding tags like "Official", "TV", or "Music" if they are not part of your stage name).

  • Music Video Presence: Your personal channel must contain at least one public, full-length music-focused video upload (such as an official music video, lyric video, or visualizer Shorts alone do not qualify).

  • Policy Standing: The channel must have zero active Community Guidelines or copyright strikes.

How to Request Your OAC via DistroVibe

Once your releases are live on YouTube Music and appear on your Topic channel:

  1. Log into your DistroVibe Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Support section and click New Ticket.

  3. Select Metadata & Profile Mapping as the department and choose YouTube Official Artist Channel (OAC) Request.

  4. Provide the following required submission parameters:

    • Artist Name: (Must match your distributor metadata)

    • Personal YouTube Channel URL: (Direct link to your personal channel)

    • YouTube Music Topic Channel URL: (Direct link to your automated Artist - Topic channel)

    • Release UPC & Track ISRC: (Of at least one live track distributed via DistroVibe)

  5. Submit the ticket.

Review Timelines & Post-Approval Note

  • Processing Window: After DistroVibe validates your details, the request is delivered directly to YouTube's music partner queue. The review and merger process typically takes 2 to 6 weeks, though YouTube's manual compliance team may take up to 12 weeks during peak review cycles.

  • One-Way Assignment: OAC status cannot be transferred to a secondary channel once granted. Ensure the channel URL submitted is the exact permanent destination you intend to maintain.
