YouTube Topic Channel Remapping & Artist Separation

When an automated YouTube Art Track is generated, platform algorithms may mistakenly deliver it to an unrelated artist's Topic channel or spin up an unwanted duplicate. When this occurs, you can submit an official remapping request through DistroVibe to redirect your music to the correct channel.

Before Submitting: Temporary Staging Channels

Before opening a ticket, verify the channel title where your track currently appears:

  • Release - Topic / Various Artists: When DistroVibe first delivers releases to YouTube Music, tracks frequently land on a temporary staging channel titled "Release - Topic" or "Various Artists - Topic".

  • Automated Processing Window: This staging placement is normal platform behavior while YouTube verifies DDEX metadata. YouTube automatically migrates tracks from temporary staging channels to your dedicated [Artist Name] - Topic channel within 1 to 30 days.

  • When to Request a Fix: Only submit a manual remapping request if your track has landed on an unrelated third-party artist's Topic channel, or if it remains stuck on a temporary staging channel past the 30-day ingestion window.

How to Submit a Remapping Request via DistroVibe

To initiate an official metadata override with YouTube's music partner desk:

  1. Sign in to your DistroVibe Dashboard and go to Support.

  2. Open a New Ticket and select Metadata & Profile Mapping.

  3. Choose YouTube Channel Remapping / Separation.

  4. Provide the following details:

    • Release UPC & Track ISRC

    • Art Track Video URL(s) (The direct link to the auto-generated YouTube video)

    • Current (Incorrect) Channel URL (Where the track is currently appearing)

    • Correct Target Topic Channel URL (Your active [Artist Name] - Topic channel, or state if a clean topic channel needs to be generated)

  5. Submit the ticket.

Processing Turnaround & Verification

  • Processing Window: Once submitted to YouTube's partner operations queue, remapping updates typically take 2 to 7 business days to take effect across YouTube and YouTube Music.

  • Confirming the Update: YouTube does not issue individual completion emails. Check the Art Track video URL after the turnaround window—the channel name beneath the video title will update once remapping completes.
