What is a SmartLink and how do I create one?

Updated August 11, 2026

A SmartLink is a single shareable link (in the form distrovi.be/your-slug) that displays every store your release is available on — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and however many others — as a clean landing page. Instead of picking one platform to share (and losing everyone who uses a different one), you share one link and let each fan choose their own.

Why this matters for promotion

If you post a direct Spotify link on Instagram, an Apple Music listener has to manually search for your track themselves — most won't bother. A SmartLink removes that friction entirely, which is why it's the standard link to use in bio links, press releases, and paid ad campaigns rather than any single store's URL.

Creating a SmartLink

  1. Go to SmartLinks in your dashboard.
  2. Select the release you want to create a link for. For releases already live through DistroVibe, store links can be pulled in automatically.
  3. For a pre-release or upcoming track (before it's live), you can still create a SmartLink manually and add store links as they become available, or use it as a pre-save style landing page.
  4. Customize the URL slug, the cover art shown, and which platform buttons appear (you can hide platforms you don't want listed even if the release is technically available there).
  5. Publish — the link goes live immediately and is ready to share.

Editing after publishing

You can go back and edit a SmartLink's cover art, title, links, and settings at any time after publishing — changes apply immediately without needing to create a new link or losing the URL you've already shared.
