Generating promotional images for social media

Updated August 8, 2026

What gets generated

The Marketing section can automatically generate two branded formats for any release:

  • Instagram Post — 1080×1080, square format.
  • Instagram Story — 1080×1920, vertical format.

Both are built from your release's cover art, track title, and (depending on the template used) artist name and either an "Out Now" or "Upcoming Release" treatment, with platform icons and the DistroVibe mark included.

How to generate one

  1. Go to Marketing → Promotional Assets.
  2. Select the release you want an asset for.
  3. Choose the format (Post or Story).
  4. Generate — this takes a few seconds.
  5. Download the finished image and post it directly to your social channels.

Regenerating an asset

Each format/release combination produces one master asset at a time — if you want to regenerate a version (say, you updated the cover art and want the promo image to match), delete the existing master for that release/format pair first, then generate again. This prevents accidentally accumulating multiple stale versions of the same asset.

Using these effectively

These assets are a starting point, not a full campaign — they're designed to give you a clean, on-brand graphic quickly without needing a designer for every single release. For anything higher-stakes (a lead single, a major campaign), most artists still layer in custom design work on top.
