Adding lyrics helps fans sing along and makes your music easier to discover.

## Adding lyrics

In the **Track Details** step of the upload wizard, paste the lyrics into the **Lyrics** field of each track. Lyrics are optional. For instrumental tracks, set the language to *No lyrics / Instrumental* and leave the field empty.

When a track has lyrics, it becomes eligible for **LyricFind**, which delivers lyrics to lyric services. See *Additional Delivery Options*.

## Formatting rules

Lyrics that do not follow these rules are flagged before submission:

- Write **only the words that are sung**. Do not add titles, credits, "Chorus" labels or notes.
- Use **one line per sung line** and a single empty line between sections.
- No double spaces or tabs, and no more than two empty lines in a row.
- No repeated punctuation such as "!!!" or "...?!".
- Do not write whole lines in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Write repeated parts out in full instead of writing "x2".

## Time-synced lyrics

Lyrics that scroll in time with the music, such as Spotify's synced lyrics or Apple Music Sing, are not added in the upload wizard. See *Time-Synced Lyrics with Musixmatch*.
