**YouTube Content ID** is an automated digital fingerprinting system developed by YouTube to detect, claim, and monetize copyrighted sound recordings across the entire platform.

When Content ID is activated for a track in DistroVibe, an acoustic fingerprint reference file is delivered to YouTube's rights management cluster. Every new and existing video uploaded by YouTube users including standard uploads, livestreams, and Shorts is scanned against this database. When a match is detected, an automated monetization claim is placed, routing ad revenue straight into your DistroVibe Balance.

### The 100% Exclusive Rights Requirement

Content ID is an enforcement tool, not a standard distribution pipe. To enroll an audio track, you must own and control **100% of the exclusive intellectual property rights** for both the underlying musical composition and the master sound recording.

* **Leased Beats & Non-Exclusive Licenses:** If you purchased or leased a beat from an online marketplace (such as BeatStars) under a non-exclusive license, you **cannot** opt that track into Content ID. Other creators using the same backing track will be flagged, creating false ownership disputes.

* **Claims vs. Copyright Strikes:** When Content ID detects your song on a video (even on your own personal channel), it places a **monetization claim**. A claim is **not** a copyright strike it does not negatively impact channel standing or incur account penalties; it simply asserts rights and collects advertising revenue on your behalf.

* **Whitelisting Channels:** If you do not want your personal YouTube channel or commercial partners to receive automated claims on your own catalog, submit a channel whitelisting request to DistroVibe support.

### Strict YouTube Pairing Requirement

To satisfy YouTube’s content integrity protocols, every master reference file ingested into Content ID must be delivered alongside an official **YouTube Music Art Track**. You cannot register a sound recording into Content ID without also distributing the release to YouTube Music.

### Eligible Content

To qualify for automated fingerprinting, tracks must fulfill all of the following requirements:

* **100% Original Audio:** Self-composed, self-arranged, and exclusively owned masters.

* **Full Exclusive Ownership:** Complete control over master recordings, vocal performances, melodies, and lyrics.

* **Duration Threshold:** Audio recordings must be at least **20 seconds** in continuous length.

### Ineligible Content (Strictly Prohibited)

YouTube automatically disqualifies and sanctions catalogs attempting to register non-qualifying material into Content ID. The following audio types are strictly prohibited:

* **AI-Generated or AI-Assisted Audio:** Tracks containing synthesized voices, generative AI stems, or algorithmic instrumental compositions (e.g., Suno, Udio), as they lack exclusive copyright ownership and trigger widespread systemic false positives.

* **Non-Exclusive Loops & Stock Audio:** Content utilizing non-exclusive sample libraries, DAW sound packs (Splice, Looperman, Logic/FL Studio stock beds), royalty-free beats, or sound effects.

* **Leased Instrumentals:** Third-party beats with shared licenses across multiple artists.

* **Cover Versions & Tributes:** Cover songs, re-recordings, karaoke tracks, and sound-alike master imitations—even when fully mechanical-licensed.

* **Public Domain & Traditional Material:** Compositions or field recordings with expired copyrights or open traditional arrangements.

* **Compilations & "Best Of" Releases:** Continuous DJ sets, continuous mixtapes, podcast cuts, speech recordings, or repackaged multi-artist tracks.

* **Gameplay, Media & Software Audio:** Audio extracted from video game walkthroughs, trailers, cinema cues, or television broadcasts.

* **Live Recordings & Ambient Noise:** Field captures, concert recordings, worship sessions, environmental white noise, or meditation drones without melodic distinctiveness.

* **Duplicate Fingerprints:** Audio already registered into Content ID by another distributor, publishing administrator, or aggregator.

### Account Compliance & False Claim Sanctions

Submitting ineligible material to Content ID constitutes a severe breach of YouTube's Partner Guidelines and DistroVibe's Terms of Service. Ingesting shared loops, unlicensed samples, or AI-generated tracks can lead to the permanent revocation of YouTube Content ID monetization privileges or catalog termination.
